Privacy Policy

Who we are

Pelican Painters Inc. ("Pelican Painters", "we", "us") is a family-run painting company based in Vaughan, Ontario, serving the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains what personal information we collect through pelicanpainters.ca and our day-to-day work, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal privacy law.

What we collect

• Quote and contact forms: your name, phone number, the service you are interested in, and anything you choose to add such as an email address, project details, or a property address.
• Calls, texts, and WhatsApp: when you contact us, we keep normal business records of the conversation so we can follow up and prepare your estimate.
• Website and advertising data: like most businesses that advertise online, we use the Google tag on this site. If you arrive from an ad, we record the ad click identifier and campaign details alongside your quote request so we know which advertising actually brings customers. We also keep a simple in-house count of page visits. We do not run third-party analytics profiles of you.
• Job records: if you hire us, we keep the information needed to schedule, complete, warranty, and invoice the work.

How we use it

• To respond to your quote request and book your free estimate.
• To schedule and complete painting work, and to invoice and collect payment.
• To notify our small team by email when a new request comes in.
• To measure advertising. We may report a conversion back to the ad platform (for example Google Ads) when a request came from an ad. Where contact details are involved, they are hashed before being matched, and this is used only to measure and improve our own advertising.
• To keep records we are legally required to keep, such as tax records.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Google tag may set cookies to attribute visits from our ads, and we store ad click identifiers in your browser's local storage so a quote you submit a few pages later still connects to the ad you clicked. You can clear or block these in your browser settings, and you can control ad personalization at Google's My Ad Center. Blocking them does not affect your ability to get a quote.

When we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers that run our business (such as our website hosting, our customer database, our email, and ad platforms for the measurement described above), each limited to what they need to provide their service, or when the law requires it. Some providers may store data outside Canada; where that happens, it remains protected by our agreements with them.

Project photos

We photograph our work for quality records, and with your permission we may use before-and-after photos in our portfolio. We do not publish addresses or anything identifying your home without asking you first.

How long we keep it

Quote requests are kept while we work with you and for a reasonable period after, so a warranty call or a repeat project picks up where we left off. Financial records are kept as long as Canadian tax law requires. Information we no longer need is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not legally required to keep. You can withdraw consent to marketing contact at any time. To do any of this, email info@pelicanpainters.ca or call (647) 999-9571. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
